I wish I could send every initial subscriber an autographed paperback but since I’m writing this from a prison cell, that’s not possible at the moment.
By the way, if you’re unfamiliar with my story, you can find it in lurid detail on malcolmivey.com. Although it’s really not all that lurid. In fact, it’s fairly clichรฉ at this point. A repeat juvenile offender who graduated to the adult system at age 16, a life ravaged by crack cocaine, a man sentenced to decades in prison for a 2005 armed robbery. Nothing glamorous, nothing spectacular. Thankfully, no one hurt. Except my heartbroken momma.
But there is a postscript.
In 2011, dissatisfied with the relentless sameness of prison life and the mess I made of my time here on earth, I decided to try my hand at writing a book. My own little fork in a yellowed wood and subsequent road less travelled. That book became Consider the Dragonfly. And that choice has made all the difference.
Eleven years and six novels later, I’m a different man. Disciplined, focused, committed to self-mastery. Saved by the craft. And it’s by far the most mindblowing journey I’ve ever been on. Happy that you’re now a part of it.
